Shakespeare wrote, “Past is prologue”. The Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York returns to Manhattan in grandeur after a three year hiatus. The coveted design event showcases the creativity of twenty-two of the nation’s top designers and architects.

The historic River Mansion was transformed into a jewel box of opulent living. Design teams worked passionately for a month on the landmark Riverside Drive address. The five story 1902 Beaux Arts building has been home to notable New Yorkers classical stage actress Julia Marlowe, Swedish royalty and the Bronfman family including Edgar, Sherry, and Hannah Bronfman. The extraordinary home, which is owned by Sherry Bronfman, is available for sale exclusively through Jonathan Stein at Douglas Elliman for $24,000,000.

“Our club and our roots are here in New York. It means so much to be back”, says James Druckman, President of the Board of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. “Each designer and architect has dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and energy to construct this Show House. We can’t thank our participating designers, architects, and sponsors enough for this thrilling welcome home”.

At the helm of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York are chairs Jamie Drake and Alexa Hampton, with Bunny Williams serving as honorary chair. The modern oasis of furnishings, objects and art is thanks to this year’s generous sponsors that included Benjamin Moore, Calico Wallpaper, Cosentino, Dedar, E. Braun & Co. New York, JennAir, Kohler, Kravet, Marc Phillips, Morris & Co., Peacock Alley, Soane Britain, The Rug Company, and The Shade Store.

The show house is a design lovers event and has raised over 29 million to date. The benefit opens to the public today and goes on until June 6th, tickets available to purchase in advance. The biggest fundraiser supports the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club after-school and summer enrichment programs for children.

Famous KB alumni Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington, Misty Copeland, Denzel Washington, Gen. Wesley Clark (Ret.), Michael Jordan, Deshaun Watson, Denyce Graves and Evander Holyfield attended the Clubs innovative programs. Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club New York has provided for more than 10,000 children ages six through 18 in nine locations throughout the Bronx.
