Tadashi Shoji Spring 2020
Tadashi Shoji Spring 2020 collection is too beautiful for words flirting between residing in fantasy while staying grounded in the real world. The designer showed his collection at Spring Studios on Thursday afternoon, September 7th in downtown Manhattan.
His occasion designs inspired by Once Upon a Time…in Japan of day to evening dresses, cocktail dresses and evening gowns would appease any modern day goddess.
The designer who is a Japanese born and trained painter referenced works of Ukiyo-e artists, Hokusai and Utamaro with great artistic detail.
The use of obi inspired knotting, lacquer like sheens and intricate floral embroidery is an exquisite touch used masterly.
Cultural prints are boldly used in simple elegant silhouettes. The fluid use of draping is elegant yet sensual.
No wonder his luxurious and feminine designs are floated by stylish A listers First Lady Michelle Obama, Oscar winning actresses Kate Hudson and Octavia Spencer, Anna Kendrick, Miranda Kerr and Demi Lovatto.
The New York Fashion Week 19 runway show embraced changing times. The show shined with diversity of lovely models from different cultures and sizes.
The glamour for the show was provided by the Honest Beauty and Orcé teams and led by makeup artist Daniel Martin, hair led by hair stylist Kevin Ryan for R Session Pro Tools, nail lacquer and design by Àuda.B and skin care prep by Tatcha.
Tadashi Shoji Spring took a humble bow at the finale of a breathtaking collection for Spring 2020.
