Jungle Red is the theme of the Moschino Fall/Winter 2021 collection with all the glamour and style of dames of the silver screen. Creative director Jeremy Scott channeled George Cukor’s The Women for inspiration. The 1936 Clare Booth Luce play turned screenplay is a classic black and white movie starring Norma Shearer and Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, Paulette Goddard, Joan Fontaine and Mary Boland as you should know. The jungle of high society where fashion is your weapon of choice. The Moschino Fall/Winter collection was presented in a tour de force short fashion film.

Lumière! Musique! Just like the film, The Women’s plot kicks off at an expensive Manhattan salon, where society ladies go to get the newest nail varnish: Jungle Red!

Fashion star power was added to the fashion show tableau in dramatic turns by Dita Von Teese, Joan Smalls, Maye Musk, Karen Elson, Miranda Kerr, Winnie Harlow and Hailey Baldwin.

There is color! The retro palette harked of another golden Technicolor era in pale pink, fuchsia, burgundy, jade green, goldenrod and of course Jungle Red.

A lady who lunches always has power suiting in eye-catching colors, reworked pinstripe and animal prints paired with the most daring fascinators.

The stunning zebra denim coat suggests fierce drama and creates gossip compared to softer looks.

For Fall 2021, go for the dramatic flair of pinched wasp like waists, shoulder pads galore, bell-sleeves, poufs and bows, whimsical purse pockets, even a compact shaped in Moschino’s signature teddy bear imbue irreverence and confidence.

The scene stealers are a high-shine power-suit made of faux gold croc complete with a tail, strapless sequined giraffe dresses, beaded leopard frocks, and a show-stopping mini with an embellished flamingo, its neck itself becoming the garment’s neckline.

How else to make a dramatic entrance then in full skirts, puff sleeves and a belted trench. Social climbing, and clout chasing boast one’s fortunes in voluminous ball gowns and black and gold charmed dresses.

As though you sauntered down a midcentury red carpet at Los Angeles’s Biltmore Hotel, everything in the collection is styled with wicked stilettos, platform pumps and wispy evening sandals.

Business attire? Check! Ladies of leisure? Check! A night at the opera? Check! Hollywood heroines? Check!

The fabulous dames were coiffed by Jimmy Paul, le maquillage by Kabuki with product provided by MAC cosmetics and talons by Yoko using the OPI New Hollywood collection.

Remember, though, no matter the scenario, you should always consider one thing: wear Jungle Red!
