Let’s Spritz with Young Friends of Save Venice
The cosmopolitan Young Friends of Save Venice mingled over cocktails and antipasti for Save Venice on the evening of October 17th in Manhattan. Let’s Spritz! was the rally of the stylish soiree at the Carpenter’s Workshop Gallery for the young and fashionable millennial social set. Peruvian beauty, entrepreneur and philanthropist Lizzie da Trinidade-Asher led the charge to encourage art conservation and one of the youngest board member of Save Venice and chair of Young Friends of Save Venice was joined by the lovely host committee members Kate Curkin, Shana Davis, Henrys Gans, Ashlee Harrison, Casey Kohlberg, Michele Levbarg-Klein,Ashlyn Lovejoy, Katie Lovejoy, Silvia Mella, Clare Ngai, Christina Senia and Ashley Wyndamu.
Save Venice Board members Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Adelina Wong, George M. Rudenauer came in support of the evening and talked about a new Assouline coffee table book on Venice in the works.
Resplendent in Escada, Lizzie passionately shared the ambitious committee plans for a membership restoration project excursion and the glamorous black tie 2019 Un Ballo in Maschera in New York. The charismatic Lizzie shared, “Venice is a city that is beloved by all and you could feel that throughout event! Where else could we host such a magical evening other than NYC where people from 10 different countries came together to toast the riches of Venice and all the incredible work that Save Venice has done to restore its masterpieces and architecture. Now that we relaunched our Young Friends group, we have big dreams to contribute to the mission of Save Venice and, who knows, even visit those restorations in person during the 2020 Masquerade Gala in Venice during Carnevale!”
The mission of the 40 year old nonprofit Save Venice is to restore and preserve the historical artwork and architecture of Venice, Italy. Save Venice selects restoration projects based on artistic merit, historical importance and urgency in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture and with the help of renowned international experts. Save Venice has funded the restoration of more than 500 artworks in Venice including the recent completion of Tintoretto’s 1561 Wedding Feast at Cana in the sacristy of the church of Santa Maria della Salute.
The beautiful young things networked and flirted among the artisan design treasures and terrace of the gallery overlooking Fifth Avenue. The Carpenters Workshop Gallery showcases an ever changing curated limited edition international artworks.
Director Ashlee Harrison of Carpenters Workshop Gallery shares the same sentiment in saying, “Last night I was thrilled to welcome the Young Friends of Save Venice to Carpenters Workshop Gallery New York. I couldn’t have had a more vibrant and successful kick-off to reboot the Young Friends Initiative- and the energy in the room proved the excitement in the community and interest in the cause. I’m excited to be a part of the organization — their mission to restore the city’s cultural landmarks and stunning architecture is necessary and extremely timely, resonating with me both personally as well as professionally.”
The classic Venetian aperitif mixology was given a fresh crisp update. The signature cocktails were prepared with twists of fresh fruit, seltzer splashes of Macchu Pisco and Galliano liquor in honor of the evening. Valdo Prosecco was served in champagne flutes. Aquolina means mouthwatering in Italian. The traditional Italian catering company, Acquolina made the affair elegant with canapés passed on mirrored trays. The cocktail party menu of delicacies served salmon roses, mini fresh crab tarts, polenta cups with assorted wild mushrooms, deep-fried bocconcini, and Parmesan toast with prosciutto mousse.
The well traveled and cultured members and their guests included Timo Weiland, Christopher Liu, Joanita Titan, Daniel Ezra, Katie Lovejoy, Michele Levbarg-Klein, Kate Curkin, Henry Gans, Christina Senia, Silvia Mella, Chris Ochao, Angelica Forlefac, Guido Callarelli, Emma Snowden-Jones, Shana Davis, Skylar Pinchal, Noah Koeppel, John Wagner, Alexis Light, Anthony DeWitt, , Markus Dochantschi, Susan Chase, Jamie Nicholson, Keyen Ferrel, Adam Gordon, Becca Starr, Clare Ngai, Eddie Howard, Mason Fennelly, Emily Armstrong, Quinn, Cassidy De Lonjay, Olivia Frame, Patrick Kenney and Peter Bradley turned out to support Save Venice in united charitable giving and enjoy the lively evening cocktail party.
The relaunch of Let’s Spritz! was a fabulous success and the party bought attention to the Save Venice initiative for restorations and preservation of artistic heritage in Venice.
